American Legion Post 58: Reviews & Ratings
Taco Wednesday Can’t go wrong yummy!!!!!!!! Thanks for your great service
I was invited to watch my friend acting in a play being held here. Not sure how they typically host events at this venue, as it my first visit. The ticket included a "dinner" of sorts and had servers waiting for you to let them know your options. They wore gloves and cutlery sets individually wrapped. The food could have been warmer. When the show started, there were overhead fans blowing quite strongly down into the tables and for us that didn't like that, we had to just deal with it. The noise from the kitchen was ridiculous, even with their doors closed they're pretty loud in there. From running kitchen machinery to voices loud and clear talking and laughing. If you're going to watch a show here, sit at the front, trust me:)! Overall a decent dinner, decent venue and show all in one. Good for families, groups of friends etc
We've been wanting to stop in here every time we drive by, going to the lake. We finally made it in on a Wednesday for their $1 tacos. Wonderful food with such a darling wait staff! It was an honor, and a pretty humbling atmosphere, as our family enjoyed our dinner along side so many Veteran's. We love their small museum at the front - great opportunity to start a discussion with our children on our military's history.
Cold beer and good mixed drinks at fair prices no smoking inside .Good fried chicken on Thursday $1 tacos and good drink specials on Wednesday. Seafood specials on Friday. And most of all they do a lot of good things for the community and the less fortunate people ( especially kids ) in the area and 99.9 % of the people that go there are great people.
A friend and I decided to check this place out for the $1.25 Taco Wednesday and pitcher Margaritas. 1 pitcher (plastic in a bud light plastic draft pitcher full of ice) and 10 tacos which both were good but only equaled 2 small margaritas each and came to $32 before tip so $40 or $20 for each of us. I thought was a bit high for an American legion hall.
Heard about this place couple years back, that it was a nice friendly place. It is. I moved to Smithville less than a year ago, and it is very convenient. The manager, and the bartenders that I've met we're all good at what they do, and friendly. Over the last several months, I've have tried out different foods from their menu, all of which have been very good. And their Taco Wednesday, way above average, has the nicest & fullest tacos I've had anywhere with specials, and you can't beat the price. They don't carry my beer, Heineken, but they do carry my second choice, Corona. All-in-all, I like the place, friendly people, it doesn't seem real cliquish like a lot of bars, and even has an outdoor covered patio & different events. Do yourself a favor and drop by sometime. I think you'll like it too. **** Susan
Had an absolute fun time, the musical bingo was a blast. The food was really good and the drinks were Perfect. The only problem was that they didn't have enough people working there.
